Walt Disney World® Resort in Orlando, Florida is the perfect destination for all student groups! Disney offers a variety of products to cater to groups with diverse backgrounds and skill sets including Disney Performing Arts Onstage, Disney Performing Arts Workshops, Festival Disney, and Disney Youth Education Series. Student travel to Orlando would not be complete without adding at least one element from Disney Youth Programs to the itinerary.
Disney Performing Arts Onstage – Student performing groups of 10 or more are given the opportunity to perform “on stage” at select locations throughout the Walt Disney World® Resort. Performances are approximately 25 minutes and groups must apply and meet audition qualifications. Marching, concert and jazz bands, show and jazz choirs, orchestras, dance and drill teams, color guards, pom squads, dance groups, vocal ensembles and gospel choirs are eligible to participate in this program. Groups can add additional educational elements to their itinerary with Disney Performing Arts Workshops. Performances are available throughout the year based on availability. (Groups should apply a year prior to travel for best availability)
Disney Performing Arts Workshops – Performing groups can hone their skills as they take part in magnificent behind-the-scenes workshops facilitated by Disney professionals. These workshops expose groups to real-world, professional rehearsing and performing environments. Workshop subject areas include Acting 101, Disney’s Broadway Magic for theatre and drama groups, Disney’s Sings for choral arts, You’re Instrumental for bands and orchestras of all levels, as well as Disney Dancin’ for dance ensembles of multiple skill levels.
Festival Disney – A series of competitive performance events held annually each Spring on select weekends March through May. Middle school concert and marching bands, high school concert and marching bands, string orchestras, chamber orchestras, full orchestras, jazz and choral ensembles, show choirs and auxiliary units are eligible to participate and no audition is required. Participating groups may choose a competitive or non-competitive status. This program gives groups the opportunity to receive written and verbal feedback in all categories and be a part of personalized feedback clinics for each performance.
Disney’s Youth Education Series – Educational programs taught by trained Disney Facilitators at Walt Disney World® Resort locations. Programs take place in and behind the scenes of all Disney Theme Parks and the Downtown Disney® area. Groups may participate in multiple sessions as programs are taught daily. Each session is approximately three hours in length.
